What’s next? That’s a question I always ask myself when I finish a book and it’s on its way to publication. What are my choices? Cruise to Tahiti? A week in Paris? Learn to speak Mandarin? Attend Santa Anita races? Join a Bobby Shew fan club? NONE OF THE ABOVE! Most fulfilling for me is the thought of writing another mystery novel for my readers. DAIQUIRI DOCK MURDER is the sixth book in my Key West Mystery Series. Do readers want new characters in a new setting? Do readers want new characters in a Key West setting? Do readers want both new and former characters in a Key West setting? That happens to be what I want to write. So I’m already plotting and planning. I may include Keely who accidentally murdered her abusive husband, or Conseula, the foxy broad-about-town, or Maggie the cleaning lady. Other characters are calling to me. One is a sexy apartment director fleeing from the Miami projects. As a child she practiced yo-yo tricks learned from a john who entertained her ma inside their Miami shack. So, give me time and I’ll have a new Key West mystery waiting for you. |
